THE VIRTUAL VITA PROCESS
1. Get all of your tax documents together.
2. See if you're eligible to get free tax help by taking a short quiz.
3. If you pass the eligibility quiz, you will be able to continue to the intake form.
4. Upload all of your documents on the online intake form and wait for an email.
5. The volunteer site-coordinator will organize your documents or contact you for questions.
6. A certified volunteer will prepare your tax return.
7. A second certified volunteer will double check your tax return.
8. The volunteer site-coordinator will email you a copy of your tax return for review.
9. Review your return, sign and date, and email the signature pages back.
10. The volunteer site-coordinator will review your signature pages and e-file your return.
11. You're all done! Wait for your refund or pay the IRS. We are unable to print a copy for you but keep the emailed PDF tax return for your records.
