United Way of Pinal County- Building Blocks HighlightsThese are the building blocks for a good life-a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family, and good health. Education Helping children and youth achieve their potential Success by Six initiative-leads a community based public and private partnership to increase the quality of child care. Supports early literacy projects such as Read to Kids Day and monthly childcare provider trainings. Promotes adult literacy, adult tutoring programs and family literacy programs. Income Promoting financial stability and independenceBrings together emergency food and shelter providers to coordinate services and programs by making access to human service information and referral easy. Provides Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) by training volunteers to help prepare basic tax returns for individuals with low to moderate income, individuals with disabilities, and elderly taxpayers. There is no charge for individuals to participate in this program. Participation in this program will help individuals claim the valuable Earned Income Tax Credit. Health Improving people’s lives
Reducing domestic violence by providing young people with opportunities to learn about bullying, dating abuse, and other control behaviors that are precursors for domestic abuse in later life. Helps older Pinal County residents continue to live independently in their own homes.
